Defeat Spam and Viruses with SecurenceMail
WebNetc consultancy uses and recommends "SecurenceMail" (formerly called MessageXchange), a managed anti-spam service provided by Securence which currently handles over 1000 customers and 1.5 million e-mail addresses. We were so impressed that we became a sales agent for it.
SecurenceMail is for corporate customers who have a registered domain. It uses the latest in spam blocking technology to prevent up to 98% of incoming spam from reaching users.
The first level of spam deterrence compares the source IP address of the sending mail server and verifies it against a consistently updated list of known spam sources, if a known source is detected the server does not accept the connection.
The second level of spam deterrent uses a powerful content filter and email scanner which provides sophisticated message filtering and classification. The efficiency, speed and depth of this technology make it practical to filter email messages based on content - in real time with no discernible latency - an average email takes less than 1 second to process.
The third level of spam deterrent uses traditional keyword and key phrase method. This method scans the header and body of an email message and compares it against known keywords and phrases, if detected action can be taken to re-route, delete, or quarantine the message. The default is to do no keyword or key phrase processing.
Anti-Virus
SecurenceMail uses the latest in virus blocking technology to prevent up to 99.8% of email viruses from reaching your users.
It scans each message using the latest commercially available virus scanner from Norman Security. If a virus is found the message can be immediately removed from the system or sent to the user's email box of choice. An email notification is sent to the sender and receiver of the message indicating the action taken. All virus signatures are updated every 60 minutes to ensure up-to-date scanning processes.
How do I use it?
In addition to the Enterprise Gateway illustrated above, we can also offer Enterprise Appliance solutions based on your premises.
What do I have to do?
For the Enterprise Gateway, you need only to change your domain MX record to point to Securence. No changes are required to your server or service provider. You change nothing else at all unless you create a mailbox to review the spam that is trapped (this is recommended for a short period only otherwise you are still paying for spam to be delivered).
Are there other advantages that it offers me?
Apart from scanning for viruses SecurenceMail also reduces your downloads. By removing spam, you no longer have to download it. This saves you real dollars. It also provides a backup in case your e-mail or your ISP's e-mail system becomes unavailable.
What Organisations use SecurenceMail?
